A Commission Invoice summarizes the earnings and commissions of a merchant for all orders processed during a selected period or other specified duration. This allows both the merchant and the vendor to easily view the merchant's obligations to the vendor and settle them accordingly.
Before reading this article, you may also review this document for details on how to set commissions.
Note 1: Depending on whether the merchant is a drop shipper or operates a marketplace, the document may be referred to as a Commission Invoice or a Purchase Settlement. Both serve the same purpose.
Note 2: We occasionally receive requests from merchants for modifications to meet their country's taxation standards. While we are not tax experts and the module has been designed to be broadly applicable to users worldwide, you can send your queries to [email protected].
Select Orders for Invoicing- In-Process Orders
Follow these steps to select orders to push them to the payable tab
1. Use Filters: The filters at the top help you select a specific vendor, date range, etc. Typically, merchants create invoices monthly, bi-weekly, or weekly.
Note: You can either view the payouts "By Order" or "By Vendor". Use the toggle on the top right corner to switch between the two.
2. Select Orders from a Single Vendor: Each invoice can only include orders from one vendor. If you select orders from different vendors while generating an invoice, the app will show an error.
3. Select Only Unpaid and Non-Invoiced Orders: Once an order is invoiced or marked as paid, the app will prevent it from being invoiced again. To resolve this, cancel the previous invoice or unmark the paid status before trying again.
4. Use the Dropdown for Viewing More Orders: By default, the app displays 10 orders to maintain speed. You can increase this number for easier selection.
5. Check Delivery Status: In most cases, invoices are created only after the order is delivered. Use filters to check the delivery status or note it manually.
6. Push to payable: Push the selection to the payable tab.
In the "By Order" view, merchants can make adjustments to the payouts by clicking on the amount in the "Payout" column for a particular order if required. The adjusted amount will have the "Adjusted" tag in the UI.
Generate Payouts- Payable
Select Orders and Create Payouts
1. Select Orders: After selecting the orders, proceed to create payouts.
2. Create Payouts: A pop-up will appear showing a summary of the invoice. You can enter details such as the invoice number and notes, or leave these fields blank.
3. View Payout Summary: The summary will display the total payable amount and the payout details for each vendor. Each vendor's invoice will be generated separately.
4. Generate Vendor-wise Payouts: If you generate invoices vendor-wise, you can select the payment method to generate the invoice and pay simultaneously.
5. Generate Payouts by Order: If the invoice is generated "by order," it will include multiple invoices for different vendors, consolidating their respective payouts for their respective orders. Merchants then generate these invoices and pay at a later time.

1. Unpaid Invoices Tab:
Once generated, unpaid invoices will appear in the Unpaid Invoices tab.
The invoice number will be reflected on all the orders for which it was generated.
In this tab, merchants can pay, download, email, and cancel invoices.
2. Paid Invoices Tab:
Paid invoices will appear in the Paid Invoices tab.
Merchants can view the paid invoices and transaction history in this tab.
