Creating Vendor Profiles on Your Shopify Website

This guide will help you create a page on your website to display Vendor Profiles, allowing customers to shop by Vendor/Seller and view their description, products, and policies. With proper customization, these profiles can match your website's theme.

Create a Liquid Template for Vendor Profile

1. Access the Code Editor

  • From your Shopify Admin panel, go to `Online Store -> Actions -> Edit Code`

2. Create a New Template

  • Go to `Templates -> Add a new template`.

  • Select “Page” and name it, for example, “vendorProfile”.

  • Click on “Create template”.

3. Generate Template Code in Shipturtle

  • In the Shipturtle app, go to `Multi Vendor Settings -> Customize Website`.

  • Under "Add a Vendor Profile page", click "Generate Template code".

  • Copy the generated code and add a heading for the Vendor Profile page.

  • Select the information to display, such as "Location" if relevant to your customers.

  • Paste the code into the "vendorProfile" template and click "Save".

Create a Vendor Profile Page

  • Go to `Online Store -> Pages`.

  • Add a new page titled "Shop by Vendor" and leave the content blank.

  • Set the template for the page to "page.vendorProfile".

  • Click "Edit website SEO" and ensure the URL is `https://yourstore.myshopify.com/pages/seller-profile` (the "seller-profile" part is crucial for the page to load).

Add the Profile Page to the Website’s Navigation

  • Go to `Navigation -> Menu`.

  • Select the desired menu (e.g., "Main menu" or "Footer menu").

  • Click "Add menu item", name it (e.g., "Know your Vendors"), and link it to the "Shop by Vendor" page created earlier.

  • Click "Save".

Choose a Theme

  • Go to `Settings -> Multi Vendor Settings (Global) -> Customize Website.

  • Under "Choose Theme", select your preferred theme and click "Save".

Add Vendor Details

  • Go to `Vendors -> Edit Vendor`.

  • Add details under "Company settings" and "Vendor Profile" for each vendor.

  • Alternatively, enable vendors to edit their profiles via `Settings -> Multi Vendor Settings -> Customize Website.

Customize the Final Page

  • Customize the look and feel of the vendor profile page according to your brand. You can hire a web designer or contact us for minor tweaks.

Using the Customer Chat Feature

  • The “Contact Us” tab on each Vendor profile allows customers to message vendors directly.

  • These messages can be viewed by both you and the Vendor under the “Messages” menu in the app.

  • Vendors can reply directly to customers using this feature.

Edit Theme Code

  • This feature is available exclusively for Theme 1.

  • If using Theme 1, click the “Edit Theme Code” button to access the code editor.

  • Follow the instructions in the ‘Important Note’ section for a seamless customization process.

  • Use the ‘Edit Theme Template’ and ‘Edit Theme Style’ tabs to modify the structure and appearance of your page.

  • Collaborate with a developer for desired changes or contact us for assistance.

By following these steps, you can effectively create and customize Vendor Profiles on your Shopify website, providing a tailored shopping experience for your customers.
